The Adventures of Cindy Li
Geek Social in Brighton

Once upon a time
I asked on the Girl Geek Brighton Dinner website if they were going to have an event while I was visiting Matt in England. Niqui and Rosie invited me to speak instead, last friday. They mentioned it was more about geeks meeting up not segregated by gender so the event was renamed “geek social”. It reminded me of the Refresh DC meet ups. Thank you it was great fun!
I got to speak about illustrations and how I went about incorporating illustration into a project. The problem with using photographs for people sitting behind a computer is that we’ve seen it sooo many times. Thanks to stock photography companies we’re sick of them. Using illustration as in Joyent’s (Illustrator: Paige Pooler) website is a great twist and so this sparked a discussion about how to use illustration in a project.
